I've heard that the bugs are pretty
big down South, but I had no idea that
they had giant ants in the airport.
Or undead dinosaurs, either.

Who knew that Atlanta had the world's
largest aquarium? We soon found out. Ally and I
petted stingrays and small sharks.
Sounds dangerous, but really, it's quite safe

The girls and I in front of a kelp
forest. The red guys on the right are deep-sea crabs, each
about the size of a small dog. They
look like the parasites from the monster movie Cloverfield

We visited the gift shop, then saw
the beluga whales. This grouper was kind enough to pose for us
The aquarium has a long, transparent
tunnel where the fish swim over you

A squadron of cowhead rays--and
what's that big thing following them?

It's a whale
shark--the aquarium has four of them--and they can grow to be 40 feet
or longer

We watched the whale sharks feed--they
eat tiny animals, not people, fortunately--then saw the coral exhibit

Posing in the "cabin" of a mock
shrimp boat...

...and Ally climbing around and
having lots of fun in the aquarium's playplace

Eventually, we had to go, but we
stopped by Centennial
Olympic Park
on our way back to our hotel (which
the airline paid for--SWEET!)
We hadn't meant to
visit Atlanta, but
we had a good time anyway!
