For the first time in her life,
Ally Jane got to meet other kids--hundreds of them--with her condition.
While she
made new friends and did cool things
(like painting), Joni and I went to workshops and talked to doctors

We also listened to a lot of guest
speakers with AMC who told about their lives. The fellow painting Ally's
face has
AMC that prevents him from using
his arms, but he has, neverthless, become a successful graphic artist

While we were there, we also took
in some sightseeing near colonial sites

We ran into quite a few re-enactors
in period garb. In the center photo, the girls are posing with a statue
of William Penn,
founder of the Grand and Glorious
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Land of Milk and Honey (according to Joni)

Independence
Hall

The Liberty Bell and the girls posing
with a cannon before we started our nighttime walking tour

The tour had an audio portion that
told of events in Philadelphia leading up to the American Revoltion.
The tour also had light displays
on historical buildings, such as the Second
Bank of the U.S.

Ben Franklin and the Declaration
of Independence

The signers of the Declaration.
It took a lot of guts to sign a piece of
paper admitting to treason against
the most powerful nation in the world
So long from Philadelphia!
