Meeting "Shamu" and seeing the Clyde
& Seymore sea lion (and walrus) show

After that, we went to see (and
feed!) some more sea lions. Feeding them is fun, but you have to
be mindful of their thieving friends,
the local birds who hang around, looking to snatch a free meal

We went to see the penguin exhibit,
and saw the killer whale show, "Believe."
That shot on the right is not some
promotional photo done by a pro that I nicked off the Internet:
Joni took that from the stands,
using an ordinary digital camera. She's inherited her dad's talent

We saw a very cool Chinese acrobat
show, then visited the playground. Ally can play the drums in
Rock Band,
so she liked the steel drums. After all these years, Beth is still Monkey
Girl

On the carousel with Joni's favorite
sea animal (otter) and Beth's (dolphin)

We also saw a show where rescued
stray pets (dogs, cats, birds) perform tricks
Day One was a blast!

Day Two at Sea World saw us visiting
the manatees...

...watching a show with costumed
divers and performing dolphins...

...and petting/feeding stingrays.
The rays are actually very gentle. They don't have teeth, so they
suck little fish from your hand
into their mouths (which are on the underside of their bodies)
As you might expect, their skin
is rubbery

The shark exhibit (like the one
at the Atlanta aquarium) has a walkthrough tunnel.
Ally got herself a real souvenir
pearl, which she was very enamored of

Posing for pictures, splashing in
the waterpark section, and meeting costumed friends

More costumed friends (bird-ladies,
this time); outside the Arctic exhibit, and up close with a walrus

The highlight of our day, though,
was petting (and feeding, of course) the dolphins

So long from Sea World!
