stillers vs. skins
Joni and I are Pittsburgh Steeler fans; Joni's friend Christy and her husband Russ are Washington Redskins fans. This year, the "Stillers" (as they say in western Pennsylvania) were scheduled to play the 'Skins (as they call them here in the D.C. area) during the regular season. Christy and Russ kindly gave us two of their tickets for the game, and on November 3 (the evening before Election Day), we all drove to Fed Ex Field, the Redskins' stadium, for some Monday night football.

Before the game, we went down close to the field while the players warmed up

That's Joni's next husband, Hines Ward, in the photo on the left. We think the fellow
in the center is Monster Linebacker from Hell James Harrison, and the guy on
the right is wide receiver Santonio Holmes

There were tens of thousands of Steelers fans at the game, and the Skins fans were very
gracious and very good sports...at least, until kickoff. After that, things got a little rowdy...

At the end of the first quarter, Washington was up 6-0 and the Skins fans in the stands
near us were talking smack. Silly me, I thought they were smarter than that...

The Steelers dominated the second half, and soon the stands emptied of Skins fans,
leaving us Stiller supporters to cheer and wave our Terrible Towels all we wanted

The final score was Stillers 23, Skins 6. Needless to say, we had a very good time!
